Potential users of Pike often have concerns about the viability of using Pike in their new or existing project. Following are some points that you should know when making a decision.
  1. Don't worry! Pike may not have as large a following as Python or Perl, but there's a vibrant developer community, and Pike is in use at world-class organizations like Opera Software and Princeton University.
  2. The C-like syntax of Pike means that a competent C, C# or Java programmer can learn Pike in a matter of days. Note that it usually takes far longer for a new employee to learn about your company's organization and the particulars of the job at hand.
  3. We plan on creating a developer/consultant clearing house where people in need of Pike help can get in touch with qualified individuals.
  4. A number of users have had good experience with services such as Rent A Coder.
